Environmental Health and Safety operates a program to manage asbestos-containing materials in all IUPUI Facilities so that all State and Federal regulations are complied with during renovation or normal maintenance activities.

All IUPUI Facilities constructed before 1981 have been inspected and may contain asbestos-containing materials. Results of the inspection may be obtained by contacting EHS.

EHS has an Asbestos Manager and employs a full-time Asbestos Abatement Crew who are licensed by the state to remove asbestos-containing materials.
